  • An exciting opportunity to develop your case support skills!!

Join Victoria’s largest independent child welfare organisation and become a vital part of a team that never gives up doing whatever it takes for kids. We believe everyone should have a good childhood, growing up in families and communities where they feel safe, nurtured and have hope for the future.

Berry Street in the Hume Region provides a Home Based Care (HBC) service, which aims to meet the needs of children and young people who are unable to live at home with their family for periods of time. The service offers a continuum of care ranging from overnight through to longer term and for children aged from birth to 18 years of age.   The service continuum takes steps to serve those from the voluntary end of the system (overnight, respite) to the most tertiary end (complex).

The Case Support Worker will provide operational support to the HBC team by supervising access visits between children and their families and transporting children to services. This role will support staff in the delivery of intake services and responses to program clients and providing support to foster and kinship carers. This is a great entry level position to develop your skills and gain some practical experience in the field.

To be successful in this role you will have a basic understanding of the Children, Youth & Families Act 2005. You will have an understanding of the theoretical frameworks that underpin Berry Street’s approach to out of home care, in particular child development, attachment, grief and loss and trauma. The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in Child Youth & Family, Youth Work or other relevant qualification or currently studying in the field.
